Q: I have signed up for a missions trip through the Ezra Centre. Who will we be working with in Ireland and/or England?
You will be meeting your group and going through orientation at The Ezra Centre. Your team leader, a member of the Ezra Centre staff, will lead groups and we have a network of missionaries, preachers and church leaders who will receive our team and help coordinate all activities in Ireland and/or England.
Q: What will we be doing?
While some groups sign up for special events and building projects, and others volunteer at our offices; in general, street preaching mission trips are involved in many forms of street evangelism and one-to-one witnessing.
Q: How many bags can I pack?
International flight(s) allow 2 fifty pound bags at check in and one carry on. Please double check weight allowance and security measures with your airline you are confirmed to be traveling with.
Q: How long does it take to get to Ireland?
The average flight(s) take 8 to 12 hours depending on layover time.
Q: What items are included in the cost of the trip?
Food/accommodations, an excursion day, any building materials needed for a project, tracts and preaching equipment.
Q: What items are not included?
Souvenirs and food at airports.
Q: Do I need a passport?
If you are a non-EU citizen, yes, you need a passport and can get an application at most Post Offices. Passports are good for 10 years. If you have a passport, check the expiration date.
Q: What will the weather be like?
The weather varies depending on the time of year, but you will never have winter conditions like in the mid-west US. We will provide you with more information on regional climate as the date of your trip gets closer.
Q: Where will I stay?
For the orientation, you will be staying at the Ezra Centre; and while preaching in other areas, accommodation is provided either at a hotel or with Christian host families. More information will be available before departing on your trip.
Q: Does the Ezra Centre require that I have travelers insurance?
No, it's up to you to line up traveler's insurance if you wish.
Q: Are there any special requirements for me to be able to go on a trip?
The Ezra Centre is not affiliated with one specific church and therefore we do not ask that you belong to a certain church or group. Generally speaking, all we require is that you be a born-again believer who is healthy, has a desire to serve and learn, and possesses a longing to show the love of Messiah in action.
Q: Who will I be going with?
Some of the teams are made up entirely of individuals that have never met one another before. Other teams come together representing one church. Whatever the case, this experience will create memories and friendships that will last forever!
Q: Is there any training and preparation?
Your team will have a leader that will schedule a series of meetings in order to become familiar with the Ezra Centre's vision, each other, the nature of the trip and suggested preparation for you spiritually, physically and emotionally.
Q: What do I need to pack?
We will provide a list of items you will need specific to your trip, projects and location. An example of some of the general items include good walking shoes, raincoat, light weight clothing & jacket, and pocket-size Bible.
Q: Can I get in contact with someone at home if there is an emergency?
Yes, there will be means to contact home in the event of an emergency during your trip.
